So sunday morning i loaded up the atv... stopped and picked up all the fatting snacks i figured i needed drove about 90 miles parked the pick up loaded the backpack with water an snacks.... down in the flats 4 wheeler tracks everywhere... so i thought to heck with it i go up the ridges on my way to the hills i pick up a match set 4 point deer... no more than 10 yards from 4 wheeler tracks ha ha ha lazy buggers... anyways according to the gps my truck (with atv in the back) was at 5426 elevation an i was on the top of the first ridge it was 6687... no 4 wheeler tracks but i only found a nice 8 pound hard white 6 point elk... but not bad wish i wouldnt have sold the other side last year... usually a good area the elk just arent there this year... hows everyone else doing in these types of areas? i only walked 5 miles according to the gps

Went out the other day, did not see a single human foot print or atv track, wasn't in a very remote area, the elk weren't in there this year, only saw lion tracks in the snow. Walked quite a ways, only to go home empty handed. No big disappointment though. I wasn't expecting to find anything on my first trip out. Thats great that you found a few, it's too bad about the lazy SOB's on fourwheelers that just don't give a crap about the future of our wildlife and habitat as well as our privilage to enjoy the beauty of it all. Good luck in the future, am going out tomorrow to see if I can turn up any bone!

thats usually the only places i go. i head out to the popular areas and head straight to the top of the biggest hill i can find and work my way down. went out saturday and saw wheeler tracks everywhere, i walk up the hill about 100 yards from the road and found my first horn. walked for another hour and came out with 3 more. one little brown forky, a white forky, and two year old 4 points in a little under 2 hours. lazy is right, go ahead and keep riding your wheelers it leaves more for me to pic up:)

Ya it makes me mad to see the damage they do... an then to drive so far to get away to a place i usually never even see another person just to find that a lazy sob has found it.. cant complain to much i did find three horns but just sicking to have my cousin come with me an his pregnant girlfriend an figureing she could pick up some horns in the flats while we were up on the hills... but all together we only found 9 horns which 8 of them were deer... did find the herd of elk but its easyer to not push them an let them move out on there own an then go pick up there horns...luckly they were up where whoever is i prefer to call them all stupid F*cks cant get his atv!

Oh, you have to love those ATV folks. Do they hunt the same way? They are not very efficient though, I found 4 sweet deer antlers Saturday and a couple good but older elk antlers (One 7pt) in the middle of an area where ATV's do roam.

I agree,
SHEDSTALKER and I hiked straight up for three hours to get on the top of the ridges, when we reached the top.... snowmobile tracks everywhere! Those lazy cheatin' bastard cleaned house!

Damn right! Elk sign all over the place the only horn we found was laying right on one of the sled tracks!

I just dont see how cruising around all over to find horns is even exciting! or rewarding in that matter! i just dont underrstand how people can be so dumb... to me an i sure most of you if not all would find no excitement or reward for your efforts... how could driving through winter range and pushing the deer so much to find a few antlers be at all thought throw anyones brain as ok to do?? i just cant see why... i started hunting horns for excersise an a way to clear my head get out an have fun.. im the guy that you see walking an when i spot that horn i go crazy wether its a forkey or a nice 4. i the goofy guy thats out in the bushes or trees doing a dance.. id like to say i find alot but i dont thats why its horn hunting i rather walk 5 miles to find one horn that sit at home an watch tv... but like you fellers i myself find myself walking around thinking huh.... stupid people until bam i find a horn then i get more humor out of it than i usually would... to date i have found a forky that got ran over by an atv... an about 30 horns they just pass up.. just sure wish people would realize what there doing to our sport/hobbie.. sad sad sad

Not all of us that own or ride atv's are stupid F*cks. I happen to ride mine ON THE ROAD to get to where I want to go then walk. NOT ALL OF US ARE THAT WAY. I find more getting off and walking anyway.

Sorry if you took me wrong i in fact own atv's an i not calling every person who owns or rides atv's a stupid f i was simply calling the people that go off roads and designating trails.. i sorry once again if you misunderstood me...

You guys wine like a bunch of little girls. Wah Wah ATV tracks focus on finding horns even if there aint ATV tracks theres probably been ten other guys walking the same spot your in you just cant see there tracks. Stop your bitchen or stay home
