I caught a Sturgeon on a trout rod in my pontoon

But don't tell me you're still using that Mitchell 300 reel?
Good Reel in their day but I retired mine about 25 years ago!

That was actually a Mitchell 400 reel. The 400's were blue, a little bit bigger and they were a bit faster than the 300. The drag would not have held up to that fish. I used my fingers to add drag instead of using the drag. I actually caught 2 sturgeon with that trout rod. The first one was between 3 and 4 foot.
