Hunting elk in Arizona

I have a buddy that lives in AZ wants to archery elk hunt area 1 in. I was wondering if anyone has drawn this tag, if they know how much it costs, and if there is even a good chance of finding bulls. I have never hunted outside of nevada so I'm looking for some advise. please help me!

I've never drawn the tag; but it's a pretty decent area....especially if your buddy is here in AZ to scout for you.

You'll have to buy a non-res license for $151, and apply for the hunt. Being a non-res you'll have to apply for at least a few years to get your points built up to give yourself a chance (non-res have a MUCH smaller chance of being drawn). If you do ever draw, it'll be $595 for the elk tag.

Do some searches and find out some more details on the units and draws. It'll be tough; but give it some years, and you'll get a tag...
