hunting Craig Colorado

I am thinking about hunting in Craig Colorado this year and I wanted to get some more information. I am trying to find out the quality and quantity of deer and when they normally go into the rut. If anybody has experiences of hunting there please respond.

I guided up there for several years just North of Craig. Good deer numbers and some smoker bucks but most of the large numbers reside on private ground. I don't know much about the ground South of town but Northwest, North and Northeast is a landlocked nightmare. There may be some others on here that can give you more info regarding the land South of town. Good elk numbers but not much on size.
