Took My 7yr old for his first deer hunt.
We chose Indiana for a variety of reasons,
Main one being his age as many western states require being at least 9. (We live in the West US)
We Hunted out of blinds and ladder stands for 3 days during the firearm season.
We had not seen any deer until the evening on the third day,
Finally we had a buck show up about 20yds behind our ladder stand.
It took a moment to get Hunter comfortable enough to shoot and once the buck step out in the open he made a well placed heart shot!
We watched him crash to his final resting place about 40yds away.
He was shooting a rem 700 chambered in 260.
I used this rifle to harvest my first deer,
I rebuilt it to turn it into a youth rifle.
However most youth stocks Lop are 12 1/2 inches.
that doesn’t work well with younger/smaller shooters!
So I chose the Manners MCS-CS stock.
With one push of a button, you have a choice of 9 rock-solid positions with an LOP ranging from 10.25” to 13.5”.
This is the best youth stock I have found but also one that is also exceptional for adults as well.
Here’s some photos!
