My bro-in-law just bought a Bowtech Patriot and MAN is it quiet compared to my HOYT Havoctec. We shot side by side and there was a VERY noticeable difference. I have the Cam and a half on this bow and It shoots great....just stinkin loud compared to his. My dad has an Ultratec and I've noticed it has a loud "THUMP-DOINK" sound when it's fired also, just like mine. I've checked all the screws and made sure everything is tightened down good....what could it be? Stabilizer? String Sound? Help me out!
Thanks!

I bought a Trykon and had the same problem. Replaced the beehive string silencers with cat wiskers and it really helped the problem. I was not real happy with the bow and sold it and got a Matthews Switchback XT.

Mine's a little noisy as well (Cybertec) but I love it! I have no string silencers though.

I love all of the SIMMS stuff but none of their string silencers can do the trick the good ol' cat wiskers can do!

I am shooting the Trykon and made the mistake of shooting with a buddy that was shooting the Mathews Switchback XT as his bow was so quiet. He couldn't get over it and he finally shot my Trykon so I could hear the difference - wow! I have been a long time Hoyt shooter but they are way behind the game when it comes too bow noise. The cat whiskers did help but it is a lot more than just string noise going on. Bottom line I don't have a good answer other than get used to it which is a bad answer.

Thanks for the help! Does that mean we go and buy a Mathews now? :) My Mathews buddies would love that! I wonder how much I could get out of my Havoctec? :)
