Boy have I missed monster muleys over the last 6 months or so. This past year has been an adventure, to say the least. I am happy that while taking a short break from law school that I am able to read up on the stories from the members who had successful hunts. I can tell anyone this much if you want to go to law school just don't. Missing the hunting season, and fishing for that matter has been killer especially considering I am in school in Minnesota and there's a damn lake every 5 feet and no time to fish em. Oh, and did I mention the cold? It's going to be a high of 6 before the windchill tomorrow and I thought Utah got cold. If I don't have time to post much more this summer and spring I hope everyone luck in the draws and for the lucky ones who draw out I cannot wait for my next break to see your success stories.

While law school definitely cuts into time in the field, don't entirely cut yourself off. That is not a good plan.

My hunts were reserved to mostly just Saturdays, but I still hunted deer each year here in Utah during law school and did some waterfowling as well. Fishing is easy, especially in your neck of the woods now. Shut the books early every once in a while and hit the water.

It's good for the mind and soul. You need it while getting bombarded by your schooling.

+1 to Vanillabean. Solid advice. I made it a point to get out hunting or fishing at least 1 weekend a month while in law school, often with classmates. We had good times, kept our sanity, and did well. If you try to stay focused on the books 100% of the time you'll burn out. Go drill a hole and drop a line; if you really can't help it then bring some books and prep outlines/casebriefs in between bites.
