I'll guess 26" but I could be off by a couple inches. I'm also not convinced he is a young buck. Could be an older buck without great antler growing genetics.

No we couldn’t turn him up the 9 days we hunted

That deer looks young. Most do, with velvet and summer capes. Even if he’s a 3-4 year old, his ears tip to tip are no less than 18” and probably closer to 20. He’s no less than 4” past each ear.
Unless he has a freakishly small head and ears, I’m still saying he’s 27-28.
