LAST EDITED ON Sep-21-12 AT 10:02AM (MST)[p]I recently got a job in SLC and I won't be able to take time off for my deer hunt anymore. I'd like to turn my deer tag (Cache rifle) because I won't be able to use it anymore. I have a couple questions...

How do I do this? (Ok, I found out how to do this now) SO....

Do I get a point for this year if I turn it in?

Thanks!

There's a few Guys on this Site that are Pro's at turning them back!
They wait until the last second of the last day which leaves damn little time for the Guy that gets the Tag to do any scouting/planning!

Just take it into the fish and game ( if the season has not started yet.) I just turned a cow tag in two days ago. They won't give you the money back but if you used point's you will get them back.

I didn't use points, but will I get a point for the current year????

If you obtain a general season buck deer permit, and then you find that you won't be able to use it, you can get your preference points back if you surrender the permit before the season begins. You'll also receive a preference point for that year and be eligible to purchase reallocated permits or permits that are still available after the drawing.
