how to clean rifle scope

For dust, a brush like with the lenspen and then some lens wipes or lens paper and solution. I defer from using the chamois end of a lenspen in case a piece of fine grit becomes imbedded and scratches the lens surface.

For dirt, I would run it under water and use a brush while the water is running. Then a lens wipe.

No shirt tails, TP, or paper towels.

I clean my optic lenses the same way RR does. The only thing that I would add is to use a can a compressed air while using the brush to dust of the lenses.

I carry a can of air in the truck just for that reason it works great and it pretty cheap to just blow out all the dust. My wife has found some little cans so now I will be carring them with me well out glassing too. I also carry the lensbrush.
