I want to get my daughters into competition shooting and I am fishing for a bow suggestion and arrow settup as well as what I can expect to pay for a quality setup.

It's always an adventure!!!

Seems like a lot of comp shooters are shooting Hoyts', either the ultraelite or proelite. The Ultraelite can be had with down to a 24.5" draw with Xt2000 limbs, the proelite down to 26" draw with XT2000 limbs. Those would be two off the top bows on the market and would accomodate the shorter draw length. As far as arrows, stick with something like Gold Tip Ultralight Pro 22 series or Pro x-cutters. Take my opinion for what it's worth, I don't have much experience with women's bows. Look for longer axle to axle length with more brace height(7 1/2"-8 1/2") Good luck.
you might try archerytalk.com for more info. I don't know the price, but bare bow I would expect $750-850.

If you are stuck on Hoyt, either the Selena or the Rintec will be great choices. There are other brands out there though. My wife shoots a Mathews Mustang, the Bowtech Equilizer is also a very good bow for short draws.
As far as total $$$, it depends on how much you want to put into it and for what class. I would say $500 is about the cheapest you will get by for, $2000 being top of the line.
Good luck.

I would vote for the Selena. It's a very forgiving bow that's fairly fast and it was made for a womans and girls proportions. It's a nice little bow and it shoots great! My wife has shot one since they first came out and shot a Sierra Tec previously and likes the Selena better. It has a cam and a half so there is some adjustment to be had though the bow performs better at the longer draw settings. There are some good carbon shafts available that will give her some great accuracy with this bow. Like lien2 stated there are some other good bows out there. Look around and see what there is, but a forgiving setup will add points to her score and her confidence no matter what venue she chooses.

Thanks guys. That gives me a great place to start. I had looked at the Hoyt Selena but I am looking around before I buy. I appreciate your thoughts.

It's always an adventure!!!
