How far apart??

I have found a shed that scores about 90 inches typical. He has 27 in main beam and back time is just over 19 in. the other two tines are 9 and 10 in. Plus a three inch eyeguard. It is the biggest typical I have found. My question is how far apart can the other side be. I have put about 4 hrs circling trying to find it, but no luck yet. Any one have any opinions on how far apart it could be. I am confident it has not been picked up yet.

I have often watched a distinctive deer carry one side for 3-4 days. How far can a deer walk in 4 days??? Good luck! I hope for your sake he walked in circles...

I found one of that caliber about two weeks ago. I have about 23 actual hours of walking so far looking for the other one and no dice. The buck stayed in the same draw for two months so I figured it would have been fairly easy. I found the first side in twenty minutes and still no other half. Who knows how far they go? Good luck to you

I went in to this area blind, just moved to colorado. I found this horn in the first half hour, still with in sight of my truck. It is close to a road, but in an out of the way place.
Ths was at the top of a big sage brush flat. Kind of like finding a needle in a hay stack.

Sagebrush is the hardest in my opinion. You can comb the same flat 10 times and only find 1 horn each time, but in the end you'd have 10. A horn can be behind any sage brush and you only have a small window of space to see a horn, one step in any direction changes what you see dramatically. If you can get up on horseback it can be a lot easier to see sheds in the sage, or if it's a steep hillside you can sometimes get on the opposite side of the draw and glass and have more success but realistically, it is tough terrain. Good luck, post some pics if you get a chance.

Oh, and to answer your question, in the sage I have found a match 2+ miles apart and that was just lucky and several years after I found the first side.

I found browns up to a mile and a half away. not unheard of for them to carry for weeks

With a very heavy antler, most of the time its close 2 to 4 hundred yds.I have looked an looked for hours and not found the match but returned the next year an there it is 200 yds away!
With smaller deer they can be miles apart. So keep lookin Its there.
