Hotmail Hacking Issue

HEADS UP EVERYONE!! PEOPLE FROM THE MIDDLE EAST ARE HACKING INTO HOTMAIL, LIVE, MSN EMAIL ACCOUNTS. HAPPENED TO ME LAST NIGHT AND IS HAPPENING TO OTHERS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY! CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS REGULARY, MAKE THEM ADNORMAL, LOWER CASE, THEN UPPER, PHRASES, ECT. BE CAREFULL!!

I have two emails and on the one that got hacked into, I have my other email saved as a contact. Well, I got an email from myself. I opened it up and it said something like, "We are offering pc's, laptops, ect for low prices. I sure didn't send that to myself and it said it was from my other email address and it sent it to everyone in my contacts list. I really feel like i've been violated!

Ummm... you can put down ANY address you want in the originator field of an email btw... I can send an email to you with your email as the originator email, it doesnt mean your account was hacked. Its called Spoofing.

No, it wasn't spoofing. Whoever did this had access to all of my contacts in my email and used my email to send this stuff to all my contacts that were listed. Someone definatly hacked into my email.

I get all sorts of crap in my hotmail. Someimes the stuff I "send myself" is disgusting. And you should see the stuff D-cup sends me!

But it amazes me the stuff I get in my work email. And they claim to have spam filters. I guess they are just looking for the word SPAM (processed spaminal meat ?) because you'd think it would filter out the viagra and pharmaceutical offers.

Huntswitha..., from what you describe I'm not sure you were hacked. It could happen and I agree that you need to be carefull and change passwords etc but I wouldn't send out the national guard just yet.
