I haven't hunted it for several years. But I will give you some past experience seeing elk when deer hunting there. We started hunting the ranch for deer about 20 years ago. There was a herd of close to 100 elk that used to feed at night in the hayfields then migrate up through the ranch to the timber above it every day. Then the wolves came and the herd dwindled down to where we were lucky to see 10 a day. This was all on the North side of the ranch up out of the south fork area the first week or so of November. We were told more elk migrated in later and the late hunt could be very good. One of the last years we were there it snowed allot up high late October. We have never seen so many elk tracks on the ranch but very few elk. We heard they migrated through and were all over down by Meteetsee. So it depends on when your there and the weather, and what part of the ranch you can hunt.
