Luckily I can say "I am not a native". Well when the last boom left so did all the fuggly girls and the goats followed suit. Coincidence? I have noticed the same and seems the fawns just ain't surviving. Still do see a few along the river but I'd say the herd is half of what it once was. Can't even draw a tag as the CPW closed the unit. There are a few stud bucks in there worth checking out. I'll try and get some pics to share.
Oddly a few years ago the CPW radio collared a few and lost the herd come winter time. The set out searching for them and located the herd south of town off 139 heading toward Junction. The group moved over 25 miles through the rough country to an unlikely area and wintered. Oddly they did the same thing again this year. Little buggers are having a tough time getting outta the slump.
