If you're sure that the elk of have shed somewhere in the area, the best thing is to do the tough leg work and cover the whole area. Look for tracks in the deep snow on the north sides or in the valley bottoms. This will let you know if the elk were in the area about at the time they would be shedding. Sometimes bulls winter in a spot all winter long, and then move out as soon as someone walks through the area. They may have moved on and took some of thier sheds with them. If they're still there, like lien2 says walk their trails. If you find a fresh track....follow it. Ususally those bull get into patterns and it's a good chance that where they are walking today they also walked when they dropped their sheds. The best advice is keep at it. The more ground you cover the higher your chance on finding sheds!!! Good luck!!
