Hells Canyon Wild Sheep Rapids...

Took a trip to Hells Canyon yesterday even though the water was runnning between 27,000 and 29,600 CFS while we were there. Well My buddy got a new boat and wanted to run it a bit and do some fishing. We boated 11 fish. 2 bucks and 9 hens. Alot better than we expected. Well after quite a few beers, my bud decided he wanted to run Wil Sheep! He's ran it plenty of times in his old boat and at a lot lower water flow. Any way Here's just two pics from the video I took. We ran it twice...once with me filming from land, and once with me curled up in the fetal position sucking my thumb in the boat.....

Needless to say...we made it!

RE: Can you say Bilge pump?

"Well after quite a few beers, my bud decided he wanted to run Wil Sheep!"

your friend sounds like a true idiot.

RE: Can you say Bilge pump?

Thats a nasty stretch of water been there at 30K and its a monster. Sounds like a fun ride though, is that a BWC??

RE: Can you say Bilge pump?

Don't get your skirts bunched up. A little humor thrown into a story to make light of the photos. It is a BWC...

RE: Can you say Bilge pump?

Those are very nice boats.

glad you made it, thought not by much from the pictures.....

I have done it a few times as well, but at lower water, and I was not driving.

came close to sinking in Granite once as well.

RE: Can you say Bilge pump?

One of the tour boats sunk at WildSheep a couple years ago. Things can go wrong quick in that big water.

RE: Can you say Bilge pump?

Ah he took her into the green room. I was suppose to go on a jet boat trip to do some photography of the boats up around Glenns Ferry, it was such short notice I could not get off work, well come to find out he sucked some weeds in the pump and lost power in one of the rapids and sunk his boat, was sure glad I didn't make that one.
When I use to deckhand out in the ocean we use to see 12 foot boats 3 miles offshore all the time out of the Columbia river.

RE: Can you say Bilge pump?

noone is getting their skirts bunched up. when you say your buddy drank a bunch of beer and decided to run wild sheep, naturally i think he's a dip$hit and completely irresponsible for doing so. turns out your the dip$hit for making it up. and i bet he appreciates it too.

RE: Can you say Bilge pump?

Who said I made it up? I said a little humor thrown in. It wasn't a bunch of beer...at least not for him. Just making light of the whole situation. Hit a little too close to home for you with the skirt comment huh? I'm sure you look good in one....

RE: Can you say Bilge pump?

i'm sure there is another forum somewhere out there that you can enjoy, that involves men in womens clothing:) until you find it, happy "hunting" cowboy. ha ha ha.

Thanks for the good story. I enjoyed it. Some people like to push the enveloope, and it looks like he did! I once took a 14 foot boat from a harbor in Southern California all the way to Catalina 20+ miles. Not drinking at all, just a thrill seeker. Heard the white sea bass were biting LOL.
