I have been out a few times looking around and seeing some bucks still packing. I have had problems in the past finding bucks this time of year with mostly being an open winter. Now that I found some bucks will they be in the general area once they start dropping. I do find a good share of sheds but seem to have a hard time finding before they start dropping. I hope I explained this so you understand.

once the bucks start dropping it doesnt matter it doesnt matter where they are its where they have been. for the most part i think the bucks should be in the general area of where they are at. being as its that time they are dropping. but you can never tell they could be gone tomorrow with no sign of where they went, but for the most part i think they should stick aroudn that area

I think that weather will play a factor, if it warms up in february then the bucks are going to chase the grass in the melted hillsides.

Some deer herds seem to migrate a lot more then others. I have an area that i love to photograph big muleys. I have been going there for six plus years. It is very easy to find tons of really nice bucks all through november december and into mid january. By the third week in january everything vanishes, even the does.

I would try to check in on them atleast once a week to make sure that they are sticking to the area.

Good luck! Post some pics when you find them.

That is what I'm talking about also they just leave and for the life of me I can't find where they go. These deer aren't chased they just leave and can't find them.
