I just bought a bipod, problem is I shoot a rifle that has a heavy stock and the plate that attaches to the stock is to small and doesn't conform around the stock.
Has anyone else had this problem, and what options do I have?

If you tighten the bracket to the sling swivel, as directed, it will hold perfectly. It dosen't need to conform as long as the rubber pads are somewhat flat.

I do pretty much the same as Nickman. Now don't laugh but on the rifle I have this problem with I use layers of duct tape on the bipod and tighten it down. I have never had a problem an it fills in the gap of the curvature of the stock.

I tightened it as tight as I could get it. It still slides too much. Also the sling stud is to close to the end on the fore end so the bracket hangs over the end of the fore end. Can I have a new sling stud installed farther back on the stock?

I think that's what I would do. I'm surprised it doesn't tighten up it must be an unusual configuration.
