The new computer is on it's way... These things take time!!! Did you go out for moose this year?? I need to get out when I come back from Missoula.... Hopefully Missoula will hold some sheds.. That's all I can hope for.

i talked to your brother and said the computer is on the way. i found one moose paddle at little S. i went to your house and looked at your sheds. you have done well. i was in la la land. i think your brother has the other paddle to mine . i mean the year before the one he found on the trail. looks the same but his smaller. found mine not to far away.
are you ready for archery season. therofare i think is opened up but you cant get them to talk to you. it is to early.

Yeah I wish I were ready for archery season. I'm heading up to school in Missoula right before September. Looks like I'm going to have to sit this one out. Man, it's killing me, but what can you do??? Maybe I can hook up with someone from Mont, but that's a slim chance. My dad and brother are planning on going though.. Soon...very soon...

are you now a resdent of montana. if not how are you going to hunt. im going up on friday the 2nd and coming home the 5th. going up with a freind. where we go there is a outfitter and he told me he is done . tired of the forest service. so we will have the mountain to our selves.

That's the bad thing about it. It is extremely hard to get residency in Montana for a college student. There's no way they're just going to give up that out of state tuition money if they can help it. Anyway I've got a late season cow tag for the north fork. I'm coming down during the Thanksgiving break and hopefully I'm be able to get out and hit the hills. Cow hunting is nothing when compared to bulls, but at least I'll get some hunting in!!

true. since you have the cow tag you will see every bull in the county. thats the way it always is. which trailhead are you planning on going up.
if your wanderning what nfh stands for it is North Fork Hunter. my dad and i spend a lot of time up there and hit every trailhead up there. i dont care for the other places well the other local mnt. ranges. they are getting to thick with people. we went riding up elksfork and fishawk and no one was there. just the camping spots are full but the trailheads are empty.

I hear you! You know what we have found is that the further you get away from a trailhead or even a trail, the less people you will see. People are always trying to figure out your spots. We've shown pictures of our sheds to people, they could care less about the sheds, all they want to know is where we found them so they can hit the same spot next year before us. I wish people would just respect one another. That's why we keep our mouths shut when people ask us how we did or where we went. We could have a 15+ shed trip and tell everyone except those friends we can trust that we found one old white one. That way nobody is trying to figure out your holes. I mean what do we have to prove, we've got the sheds, and as long as people think we do horrible, they won't come looking for our spots!!

i agree. i just telll peeople where i go so they are not breathing down my neck but, i tell them a spot where everyone goes. then when your up on the mountain next time and drive by a trailhead that you told that person guess who is there. that is the technique i use.
the construction workers are killing us here. well i mean that when horn hunting starts we cant go becasue of school and they get to go during the week becasue they get to take time off. then they rub it in your face.
Meztler the outfitter came home one day with a whole truck load. its a place i wanted to go to but i had to work. not oly could he take off time but he has a sheep tag. people claim that he found a 400 incher antler.
i have found about 40 some sheds. i would have found more but blairs was killing me.

I hear you, but you have to take what anyone in Powell or Cody says with a grain of salt. People love to talk. It doesn't matter if it's about wolves, bears, sheds, or 400 bulls. I have heard many rumors, but have failed to see some backup. There is a lot of talk about 400 sheds, but in my opinion, it's because few of the shed hunters around that area know how to properly score a shed. Who wants to say they found a 340 bull when they can say they found a 400 and everyone will believe them!! For me, I have to see it to believe it. Plus, I know a lot of guys- and this is totally little man syndrome, who save up there sheds load them into their truck and parade around town claiming they found them in one trip. People from back home scare me. That's all I have to say about that!!

i want to go to his house and see some of the sheds he has found. has some sitting in fron of the house and they are huge. a lot of 320 class and bigger sheds. like i said next year will be differnt. i am taking off school to go. i hope to get up to the hundrends. i hope i have pure luck.
archery starts in a week and a half. im getting prepared. i am shooting my bow to pratice up.
