The Colorado plains season started off a little slow for us last weekend, with the warm and dry temps it was hard hunting to say the least. Now, last Wednesday we had a cold front roll in that was going to be bringing cold temps and moisture. That Thursday morning when we woke up there was a fresh 4" of snow. I decided to take Marshall out of school and we would go look for deer, the morning started slow like the others. After lunch we found a group of 7 bucks, after looking for a short time Marshall decided that this was the one. He made a great shot on him and his Halloween buck was down. He told me later that this was way better than Trick or Treating! This is his first Mule Deer buck and a really nice one at that!! He is having quite the year so far!
