Its lookin like my job will place me near great falls montanna, this summer i dont know what the country is like or how the people are but i was wonering if anyone is nice enought to tell me if any game winter in that area looks flat and boreing to me any help would be appreciated

I live in Great Falls. There are some good wintering grounds for elk on some of the wildlife management areas nearby, like the Sun River Game Range and the Beartooth Wildlife Management Area. They open May 15. I am not positive, but I believe they may have put restrictions in place this year on the number of sheds you can pick up on the WMAs. It can be a circus on some of those the day they open. Because of the terrain, we don't seem to have traditional wintering grounds for our deer herds in the area. They typically don't have to move too much to winter, except along the Rocky Mountain front. We have good numbers of both mule deer and whitetail and I tend to find a lot more whitetail bone than mulies, mainly in creek bottoms on private land. There is a ton of game here, but it is not managed for quality, so finding really good horns can be tough.

hey man thanks for the info if i actually end up gettin sent up there i might hit ya up and see if you want to go see if we can find something
