Had a heck of a fun time this year with fellow Kingman residents and friends Joe Herrero, Jimmy Herrero and Danny, Leroy and Heidi Asplin.
Joe drew tag 34 out of 35 issued this year and Heidi got a tag when someone turned in their tag and she was next on the list.
Just briefly, Joe took his largest buck ever, a giant 35 inch 6x5 on the fourth day of his hunt and then while helping out the Asplin family, Heidi too her first ever mule deer buck, a 4x3 that was 29 1/4 inches wide.
Unfortunately, I can't seem to get my photos of these and other bucks we saw on the hunts.
For Heidi, she passed on 62 bucks of various sizes before she pulled the trigger on her buck on Day 8.
Joe has seen about 30 bucks before he pulled the trigger on his buck. It is his second mule deer he has ever taken, and very doubtful he'll get one like this again.
Both bucks will have the taxidermy work done by wildlife artists Henry Aguilar of Kingman.
Gonna try and figure out the photo situation as I got pictures of a lot of cool wildlife and scenery up there.
It was snowy, cold (15-16-17) every morning, roads were either frozen or sloppy muddy and slick. That part was no fun.
Lots of up and coming bucks seen, I hope I get a tag in the next few years!
