I have found some sheds this year, infact iv found about 25. but nothing really cool. biggest is a four point set.

I live in Idaho and shed hunt a couple areas. A guy said i should try up by Riggens. Im not asking for any honey holes just areas you may know of that are good for shed hunting with my 5 month old lab pup?

thanks

if you get in some area of utah right now, not to many guys have been going. i think they are waiting for the shed season to start- but they are dropping now so you might as well go. oh , and if you take a 4 wheeler you can cover alot more country, just get you gps and start gridding entire areas, you will find a pile!;)

I dont get the "OREGON" reference and i dont really find it all that funny. im a younger guy and iv only shed hunted this year. by the time im your age ill probably have some good areas i was just looking for a little insight.

That's the problem with the young bucks, they want all of us seasoned guys to tell them where all the antlers are. Do what we did. get out of your rig, find an area and start walking and looking. I almost bet you will find some antlers, and when you do, tell us seasoned guys where they are so we don't have to bust our humps. lol

You won't find much in Riggins. Everyone there is a shed hunter, it's a way of life there and a way of income in a town with very few jobs.

haha i hike my a.s.s off! i live in the boie area and i hike mile upon mile. i just mean general areas like the boise front is a big winter range. thats all i know, i just found out that near riggens in any of those hills is a winter range. thats all i mean. just where deer winter. ill hike, ill do the research, ill spend the gas money, time, and put on the miles. i wasnt looking for a hand out!!!

I Live in boise. but i am willing to travel. im going on a back packing hunt from 1500 feet up to 6000 feet this weekend. see what i find.

I would help u if u ever came around CDA. I'm going out for a few hours tomorrow around Hayden Lake. Be safe on your trip and let me know if you ever wanna come up this way.

ok, heres the problem. like you said, there will be nothing sacred by the time i am an old fart. so i want to spend as much time outdoors as i can while im young and healthy. I have taken 3 people on their first deer hunts and helped them harvest their first bucks ever, they loved it! i just thought that someone would give me some insight on shed hunting like i have helped others. I have already gotten a lot of simple help that i really appreciate! stuff like riggens being shed hunted a lot, that helps because now i can focus on other areas. just stuff like that. like a south slop of a hill is best, or that feeding areas can produce more than bedding. make sense? thanks for those who have helped.

here is my friend dev. and his first ever buck that i took him to get.

this pic is my dad and his buck that i spoted and radioed him to it. then me with a shed, then my friend dev. with his second ever deer and my friend ryan with his first ever buck, both bucks were in a particular little draw i told them to sit in and glass. they took those bucks opening morning at the same time. i preseason scouted in order to help some friends land a buck. i spent my hunt helping them and went home with an elk shed haha

WOW, your name should be outfitter. If you got the time to preseason scout for 2 points. I think you can find the time to find some deer in there winter range.

there isnt a two point in those pics and the reason i went home with just a shed is becasue i really wanted to help my friends get a buck. any buck. they just wanted to go. and i was trying to land a couple nice 4 points but after packing out three deer in one weekend i didnt have much time for myself.
