I've been around long enough to See Oil Fall Flat a Couple times in My Life!

But I Ain't Never seen any-F'N-thing like this!

-36.00 a Barrel today!

By the Way!

I'm looking for a Place to Store Crude Oil!

At -36.00 a Barrel I Think I Might be able to afford to Buy Some!

Yuppers this really blows in an area economically dependant upon extractive resources. Heard today those $1M workover rigs are selling for $150K. Fully tooled. Not much to support our economy.

Elk..the North Slope of Alaska is the largest storage place on earth...but it's still full too from the 1980's...

I'm not protesting and I don't know who the choir is. I told people to go to work for weeks and got called almost every name in the book on this website. Even had one guy say he hoped my business burned down and that I would die. I guess we get the future we deserve.

America should have stayed at work.

You also told OTHER people to defy local law enforcement. But you can go with the "everyone picks on me" strategy.

And I didn't think my post was SO nuanced that you wouldn't be able to figure it out. I'm disappointed.

That's right. I did tell people to defy local law enforcement. They aren't the law and if everyone went to work their wasn't going to be dam thing they could have done about it.

People forgot our government serves us. They don't rule us.

My point isn't about who gets picked on it's the fact that apparently there are fewer men out in America than there used to be.

America should have got to work.

Well, I filled up this morning, paid $1.77/gallon. I guess I should have waited for the price to come down:mad:.

the oil company I use to work for it cost $16 a barrel to lift one barrel of oil. That cost include electric bills to contractors to office people and so on. As of now they have shut in all wells.

NOT GOOD

Geezus Tri, cry me a f'n river! We told you they couldn't go to work because their place of employment was closed down by the government and your point was pointless. If a bar or restaurant defied big brother and continued to operate they would, at a minimum, lose their liquor license. They didn't have any options. Yer "got to work" mantra was as ridiculous as your "just go hunt" mantra when seasons are closed!

I guess I just take a "can do " attitude to another level.

Do you realize that we changed the constitution once before because millions upon millions of people decided they can drink some alcohol if they want to? That was the US Constitution and now everybody is terrified about a state license. If they take away everyone's liquor license the state might as well stick a gun in their mouth and pull the trigger until it goes click.

Tri, I've been behind you in spirit and it won't be long until I'm behind you all the way. We had to take it serious at first.

The "experts" say you can have the virus and not even know it and you can spread it to others. Well if that's the case we need to test everyone in the United States once a week for a year to make sure it's safe at go back to work. That's assuming the borders are secure and no one is traveling in or out of the country. I smell a rat. Someone wants to control us.

Politicians deciding just who is and who isn't essential should never have happened. The answer to any government official demanding you give up your business and the ability to earn a living should be a flat NO! Time will bear this out but it's a lesson that we all will pay dearly for.

America raises boys now. Men are unwanted and a quickly dying breed. This will come back to bite us

If my place of business closed tomorrow, I'd find another job. That's how america used to work

And if I couldn't find one, I'd make one. There is no reason to be unemployed unless you just like standing in the cheese line.

And we gave that control SO easily. I'm disappointed to say the least. This will be history and "the virus" will be a side note.

All this pandemic is who is willing to control the masses..and somebodies doing a pretty good job..Now that is just my opinion..I could be wrong..

I find this stuff fascinating. About the only change to my life is my wife and youngest being home for school. Groceries are weird, and the produce sucks and someday I will run out of toilet paper, but thats about it.

My real concern is how significantly my spending has reduced itself. If everyone else cut back same as us, the economy got hit hard. And I'm sure not saying you guys are or wrong or haven't been impacted. I have friends who are scared for everything they built.

I remember when I used to get mad at old people out driving around aimlessly. I'm starting to think I should get out there in a show of support. And we got a tee time in Monticello for next week. Them Utards aint scared. Come on summer :)

I'm one of the old guys driving around aimlessly now. ? But you'd be surprised at what you can see once in awhile.

I took my wife on a drive last Sunday and we ended up at the small boat basin on Humboldt Bay. We noticed this big ship coming up the bay and it steered into the small channel where we were. I thought wtf? There's no place for it to dock up here but it just kept coming. What's it going to do? Throw the anchor out? No, it just kept going past the boat basin toward the mud flats! Oh, this is not good! It had a Japanese name on the bow which might explain part of it.

It finally came to a stop because it ran out of water and the tide was going out. He put it in reverse and churned up the mud and slowly backed up out to deeper water. The last we saw it was headed back toward the entrance in reverse. Usually those big ships have a pilot boat escorting them. Maybe he turned left at California and got lost. Who knows.

It wasn't like 1 restaurant closed down in town.

That's true, but restaurants aren't the only place to work either. I don't know very many ppl that are in a field of work that they intended to be. Sometimes you've got to adjust and be willing to roll with the punches. The baby ain't gonna feed itself...

I "discovered" grocery delivery.

I will never go back. I hated the grocery store before, now that everyone dies who goes to one, no thanks. I'll GLADLY pay someone for that.

The point is, here in Colorado, everything shut down. What little was open acted like a vaccum to all the newly unemployed. There were only so many chairs when the music stopped, and it was the government that turned off the music. I've stayed busy as a self employed, I'm just speaking on those that worked by the hour in many "non-essential" positions. Maybe it was different in Texas and Utah with Republican governors?

I tried to tip the gal who brought ours out, and she acted like a leper was handing her a turd.

I'm with you on this curbside thing, but they dump the crappy produce on you, here anyway. Now I know why my brother in law got handicapped plates for that sprained ankle.

I understand. But my point is, ppl refuse to adjust and just like to play the "sorry, I can't work" card. There is tons of work to be had. Just maybe not in their ideal setting. Sometimes we don't get our ideal situation but I guarantee there is work to be had. There will be fortunes won and lost with this ordeal. If a person is willing to be fluid and move where the opportunity is.

I can't speak for slc county, Chairwoman Wilson did her own deal.

We have plenty of "Nancy's" who drive around looking for folks chastise on FB.

It's changed for sure, and most folks I think are responsible enough to do the distance thing, and make efforts.

I know the 3 big grocery warehouses here (Wal-Mart, Kroger, Associated foods) hired a ton.

I worked in Kroger during the last recession, that's MAN work, no office dude is going to be able to handle that.

Little places are closed. Pretty tough to see.

It's hard to hold down the people of northern California. They're going to work one way or the other. Marijuana clones are almost impossible to find right now.
