I have a chance to go on a Mountain Goat hunt, and was wandering how members would rank the meat compared to Elk,Moose, whitetail, etc.

Helped a guy get one a couple of years ago!
Gave me part of the meat.
I like about all meat,but I don't need/want anymore Goat meat.
You shoot it though, you gotta eat it.

Goat meat has good flavor in my opinion, but very tough. I just grind mine and really enjoy it.

Best of luck on your goat hunt. I hope I have a few more in me.

Depends on the goat. I've had it from an early season goat(Aug) and its ok, still kinda tough, but once Sept or Oct rolls around just grind it. Tastes fine, but tough.

When in doubt, floor it.

Diplomacy is the art of saying "nice doggy" until you find a big stick.

do you have a dog? should keep him fat thru the winter if you can get him to eat it. a good strategy to get him to eat it is chit on it for a few weeks then grind it together before you feed it to him we all know dogs love chit that should get him started on it haha jk
never actually eaten it but i bet sausage and jerky would be good!

A trophey hunt for sure. However, the meat is not the best, but not anything that you would say you have to choke down. Grind and jerky!!!

I had most of mine made into Polish sausage. When we tried to eat the steaks, which actually had a good flavor, one friend described it as trying to chew through a bunch of mop strings!
