went out sunday with my buddy bruce looked around where he saw a bunch of deer walked a bunch and looked around alot not much turned up and on the way out found the 3 point . changed location and went up a little higher elevation and found a partial elk . on the way out down a steep slope oh bruce finds his first elk shed ever and what a brute it was and to make it even better found the matching side feet apart . good day could do a bit better but the country we looked in was thick and steep any advice .

this one side here was chewed on but if hes still alive what a beast he should be

my advice would be to PM me and tell me where its at.... ha ha. Just kidding. i would hike up to the top and glass glass and glass. I never really glassed for sheds cause the country i go in is pretty narly but every elk horn ive found this year has been from glassing.

Yep......my advice is STAY in that steep, thick crap!! You won't find as many - but what you do find is often WORTH finding. In time you body, mind and psyche will adjust to hunting that bad stuff....but you will always long for the days of short green grass in the tall pines - easy walking and tines up.
