Found my matched set

During the archery season I passed this fella up numerous times, including once at 5 yards, because I had my sights set on another buck. Ive been keeping tabs on this guy ever since the season ended in hopes of picking up his sheds, but up until last monday he was still sporting his headgear. I went out last night for peek and noticed that none of the deer still had thier horns, so I went out today to find em.

I wandered around the area he had been hanging out in expecting to find his horns laying in the general area, but after picking up sheds for 6 other bucks I still hadnt found his.

I was running low on time and decided to walk out a different way then I had come in, and just as I was about back to my vehicle I saw a tip sticking outta the grass. I wandered over to see what it was and sure enough there was his left side! I no sooner picked up his left side when I turned my head and there was the right side laying about 8 feet away. Talk about luck! I found them in an area about a quarter mile from where I see him all the time, so he must have been doing some wandering around lately.

He is definatley lacking in the mass department, but his spread is exceptional. His outside spread is approx. 30-33 inches ouside and 26-26.5 inside.

Pretty cool that you could get the rack without having to kill him. Maybe he will put on some mass for next year. Good find.
