What FOC does everyone shoot... If I figured it out right I am shooting at 11.4... I am currently shooting the Carbon Express 3D selects and a couple of my buddys are telling me I need to go to the maxima hunters because I need more FOC...

I am hunting mule deer and hogs and MAYBE an elk... if my FOC is ok then I want to shoot the 3D selects becuase I dont like the look of the maxima hunters (I know, I know, but if I dont like it, I am less likely to have confidence in it)...

so is my FOC ok are do I really need to change??

Anywhere near 10% should be fine. Personally, I think there are much more important tuning factors that will lead to good arrow flight than the FOC, it all depends on what flies the best for your setup and FOC is just one small part the equation. Remember though, by changing shafts simply to increase your FOC, you introduce a completely different shaft, flex, and spine - all which will affect your arrow flight. I would pick the best shaft for my poundage and cam type, and then adjust the FOC accordingly to what shoots the best for you, not the other way around which you suggest.

You might want to go to smaller fletchings to increase your FOC on your current setup, assuming you cannot increase your broadhead weight. Try it on a couple arrows first. Try a slightly heavier insert too if you can.

I shoot the carbon express 3d selects as well, and I prefer a slightly smaller FOC than 10% for good trajectory and long distance shooting (70-100 yards). I then fine tune my bow to get good flight, the increased FOC only gives stability, which I feel good fine tuning can achieve.

In theory, you are borderline. I like 12-13% for better broadhead flight, but if you are happy with your broadhead groups and can put one where you need it, you should be just fine.
