FMP...

The production is cool you know, something different. I think if a guy practices at those distances and is accurate with his equipment then thats his choice. Personally I think its risky but then again if an 80yrd. shot is something I'm confident i can make then I'd probably take the shot. I've seen both dvds.

I own both of the DVD's and have enjoyed them both. The first one was a little better, as I did not care for the story that kept going on between hunts on the second one. I will continue buying them for as long as they make them, there are not nearly enough archery mule deer DVD's out there.

As for long shots.....if you can make it, do it. I spend most of my time shooting at 60 plus yards with my hunting bow. I shoot a hunting bow that closely resembles my target bow. I do shoot the hunting bow a little better for some reason.

I thought the hunting footage of the two videos was okay, but I did NOT care for all the 'distractions'. In the second one, they used a buddy of mine's car, and I still didn't like all the 'sideshow' stuff. I watch hunting shows/videos for the hunting, not for wannabe bad-asses. But hey, thats just me. I suppose this is their way of standing out in the crowded market of hunting videos.

they are both better than any bowhunting video where they shoot a deer through a blind or from a tree stand. I will keep buying them!

I liked them because they are different from the norm but, at the same time I didn't care for the 2nd videos story line.
I heard the controversy about the videos and wasn't going to buy one. But I was bored one day and there was a sale going on. So there were a few long shots, shots that I won't take but that is my choice. I'll buy another as I like muley hunts.

I own both and the first is my favorite. My buddies and I enjoy the videos and we have a lot of fun messin' with each other about going "full circle"! The side stories are funny! The hunting footage is cool and always makes me want to get out more. I will have to credit the first video for giving me the motivation to start getting deep in the mountains with my bow. It is cool to see some local guys have success with their video.

I have both and like them both, I think there story line was a little corny on the second one but kind of liked the first one, but I comend them for trying something different, I also like the music they put in them. I also think if they can get a good storyline then it would be a great idea.

As for the long shots I say if you can do it and practice at those ranges then it should be at your own discretion.

I'd rate them about a C to C+. Some nice deer but a little too much low budget Hollywood for me.

Videos are decent but I have to say the long shots that they made were not that great and for the most part seemed to be poorly placed. Anyhow definetly a unique couple of videos...

yeah, seems to me like most of the deer "ran farther than would have liked" or they were recovered 2 or 3 days later. It just seemed to me that these longer shots with archery equipment mean more non-mortally wounded animals or late recoveries (if at all). That's just what I observed. Now I have not seen DVD 1 and I will say that one of the deer that "launch" tagged on DVD 2 seemed to drop on the spot. So, who knows......each situation is very different. I probably wouldn't even think about taking a shot over 60 yds....just me though. Gives me more "sock time" anyway....trying to get in close on the big ole' bucks.

I haven't seen the first one, however, I thought that the second one sucked. If you like guys acting like they are planning some big drug deal in the middle of all of their hunts than go buy this DVD. I also was turned off by the way that half the deer on the DVD were shot one day, and then very obviously retrieved one or more days later. IMO the only guy who put vital kill shots on animals was the guy who killed the moose and that big 3 point. For what it is worth.

As far as cinematography these guys do a GOOD JOB and they hunt where I do so I feel that connection. I think If they focused on hunting and not trying to throw In some tag line (drug deals or fullcircle) they could have a great movie. Trying to film and get kill shots Is tough, so I give props there and as far as long shots, me personally, I have killed my biggest deer at long distances so just my 2 cents. I must say the bad porno acting is not for me but you got to stick out in this Industry and be different If you are going to be successful so for me bad acting good cinematography!!

To each his own... this is theirs and I support something different.

There is no doubt about their effort. Ask any guy on their squad and they are all in the hills a ton. They are dedicated hunters telling their own story and in their own way.

I am educated enough to see this isn't suppose to be an oscar nominateed film, but entertaining.

Having attempted to film my own hunts with my partners, I applaud any hunter who is trying to capture their hunts on film. That alone is difficult, not to mention the taking of an animal.

I enjoyed the film as I have been around ski and snowboard films and understand what it takes to deliver the product they are.

So all of you couch-potato critics, go out and make your own film and then we will have something to compare too.

I'd buy any film any time anywhere, if it has mule deer taken with a bow....especially since it was filmed around my playground of Utah.

I also film hunts and it isn't EASY. Especially mule deer, especially with a bow, especially on public land, and especially on over the counter (non-draw) tags. It is SO HARD to get it to all come together. I have seen these guys on the hill MANY MANY times and they are truly committed to videoing the hunt. They also seem to be pretty good guys. I think they have captured some awesome footage in both videos. Any archery bow kills are great to watch especially in Utah. I could do with out the drama in the videos but it is unique and I don't hate it. It is just a little different. I think that they could tone it down a bit and still make a great video. I hope they continue to put them out. I will buy every one. The long shots don't bug me as long as you practice and don't over do it. I killed a 149" buck on video in Colorado last year at 77 yards. One shot kill. Practiced out to 90 yards all summer long. Some of the shots in their videos don't say a range and look to be 100+ yards but it is hard to say. I am not going to judge them for that but I think that you can go "overboard" with long bombs. Either way it is exciting to watch and although the shots and drama may be a bit much I like their footage and effort.
