I was thinkin about switchin to the new 2007 easton full metal jackets and because I want to shoot my 2a light arrow for my archery 3-D tourneys was wondering if it is possibly to shoot the FMJ 500's out of a 70 lb bow, 29" arrow, and either a 85 or 100 grain tip without causing any damage to my bow. Any help is greatly appreciated!

While the weight of the arrow will be close, the spine is going to be way weak depending on your actual draw length. I shoot a 27.5" dl at 65 lbs. and require a 350 - 400 spine with 100 grain points. At 70 lbs. and 28" dl, a 500 spine is going to be flopping all over the place.

I'd suggest a 400 spine in Navigator FMJ or ACC. These will be somewhat lighter than the Axis FMJ and in your spine range.

Cheers,
pete

I plugged your set up into the Easton Arow Shaft calculater and based on 70#, 29 in arrow and 100gr point a 500 would be way underspined for your set up. It recomends something in the 340 range. Even a 400 might be a touch on the weak side.

Thanks guyy. I think I'm just gonna go back to Gold Tip 5575, light, inexpensive, and the correct spine. Thanks again for the help!
