How far from the start of the arrow shaft should the back of your fletch be? and besides changing the FOC does it make a difference? Thanks in advance

I just fletched a couple dozen myself, and I've read that as far back as you can get without interference from the string at full draw. Mine ended up being about 1/2" from the start of the nock bushing. It does play into FOC, but doesn't change it a whole lot. Play around on Goldtips website and use their FOC calculator. ( http://www.goldtip.com/calculators/foc.asp ) That's what I used for building my arrows this year....it's really a pretty good one. Hope that helps.
