fishing around Pinedale

I drew an elk tag and was wondering about the fishing around pinedale that can be had between scouting trips into the mountains. I kinda like to rest up floating on the river or short hikes to mountain lakes for a little down time between more difficult treks into the woods. I'm not much on guides as I'm more of a mess it up myself kinda guy.

If you like trout fishing, there are more than a thousand lakes, lots of creeks, and some rivers to float.

Like piper said, more lakes and streams than you can fish in a lifetime. The Upper Green is good. Also, if you are looking for an easy day, you can drive into little half moon lake. Good fishing for small trout. Pole creek runs out of it and can be excellent at times and from my experience gets little if any competition.

Thanks for the heads up on the lake fishing and stream fishing. I have a small float boat for river fishing its a pontoon style. Is this fly fishing or can a person toss hardware?

most of the Green river is artifical lures only,( flies-spinners ect) so are some of the creeks. The lakes are open to the general rules, which means bait is allowed.
