First timer in CO archery season

Finally put on my big boy pants and applied this year and drew a tag in unit 444. Pretty excited about it! Looking forward to picking up as much knowledge as possible. Is there any reading you recommend? I have Mule deer country by Geist I am going to start shortly.

Read the Geist book and take notes. Then read it again. You will be rewarded for your efforts.

Everyone has an opinion, but for bow season I think the earlier the better. And getting there at least a couple days before it opens since you don’t know the area.

I second the earlier the better for Archery Mule deer. They will be in the open for longer periods of time when they still have their velvet on. Once they shed the velvet the become a harder animal to bowhunt in my opinion.
