That's as good of advice as your going to get. Most of the major brands are prooven. Don't get caught up in the speed, gadget, trap. Get a setup that is fun for you to shoot. Back in the day when I shot a compound, I shot a Hoyt Gamegetter II. Basic, wheels (no cams), finger release. Fun to shoot, accurate, and killed as efficiently as the higher end models.
