First 2009 Elk Shed

I went hiking in a new area today and found my biggest elk shed ever: left side; 7-pt., 13" base and 58-4/8" mai beam!Tough going trying to find the match-extremely thick pinon-juniper wash it was in.

It's not a "freshie"- probably last year's, but it was pretty hidden and protected so it is in great shape. I plan to keep huntin' for the match.

I was by there the other day headin' for elk country (3/21)-completely iced off, at least half dozen vehicles along shore and two boats in the water!
