LAST EDITED ON Apr-29-07 AT 09:47AM (MST)[p]I've been hunting all winter trying to find a cougar on one of the harvest object units in Utah but I couldn't ever find a good track. Last Friday I was helping a friend with a turkey tag and we found a fresh cougar track in the mud. I wasn't really hopeful on dry ground but I called my friend with the dogs and we went up Saturday morning. By 8:00 a.m. we had this cat on the ground. My new Mathews Drenaline did the trick. It was a lot of fun.

Great cat! Hope you're going with a lifesize mount. It'll be a nice one. Congrats!!!

Congrats on a huge cat! Thanks for sharing and looks like a great way to initiate that new bow!

Congrats , thats a great looking cat for sure. Weird seeing the picture without snow and green instead. Thanks for sharing it...

Thanks for the comments. Yes I am defitely getting a full body mount and I can't wait. I thought this was such a fun hunt. Before going I was skeptical about hunting with dogs but it was a blast. I think the challenge of a public land harvest objective do-it-yourself type hunt made it all the more satisfying. I think it is definetly a hunt that everyone should do at least once. It was exciting and challenging. If you are like I was you probably don't realize the challenge involved in these hunts. It was ALOT harder than I thought. After 9 days I didn't think I would ever find one. I am glad I finally did and we got some awesome video footage of it.

P.S. I am going bear hunting in Idaho next Wednesday and I can't wait.
