Fight to finish ends in a draw

Yeah...my first thoughts, too. BUT I have heard of bucks dead from a fight and locked antlers, one buck goring another resulting in death, even a battle where three whitetail bucks locked in battle and either died from wounds or drowned when they battled into deep water. And I've seen video of a lion killing a large buck. Just never thought of another possible outcome.

I expect that cat killed the buck and either while dragging it someplace with more cover to eat, or while starting to eat, was shot.
