what do you think about the snow level in norther utah and the what it might do to the fawns this year?

It will be very interesting. I think that with the moisture we had this year a lot of does miscarried their fawns to stay alive under the harsh winter weather. Those that got to this point should be in great condition with all the feed. Mostly I think the snow level will impact the next year fawn crop more than this years. The does will go into the winter very fat and ready to produce fawns. I think there will be a lot of twins next year. I may be way off. But that is what I think will happen.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe I read one time that in high stress winters like some of you had out there this year that does will actually absorb the fetus. This not only eliminates the stress of carrying and giving birth with perhaps both the mother and fawn dying, but also gives the mother additional nutrition during a stressful time.
