Hey haven't seen ya check in with Daisy and her finds yet? I know you had to check out the ridge full of buck pics by now

He's been a little "down". We went out about a week ago to look at a few deer and I just happen to find a shed... So now He's going to spend the rest of the year TRYING to catch up :)

Ha ha, funny ELKOHUNTER. Actually, I don't start antler hunting until March. I try not to push the deer around and purposely wait until March when the snow starts to melt off. At this time the deer move down in elevation to eat the new greenery and I start hunting antlers at the slightly higher elevations. I do go out in January and Febuary and try to scout out new areas but I try to do it at a distance. Even then its almost impossible to not push some deer around.
Every year I plan a trip to Florida in Febuary and this year was no different. I just got back to Nevada on March 1st. This keeps me out of the hills until March. We just got new snow so I'll probably work on some honeydoo's and give the deer another week or two. Daisy's chomping at the bit and ready to go and the camera's in good working order so you can be sure I'll be posting pictures when I finally do get out there. It will do me some good to walk off some extra winter weight.
I'm looking forward to seeing everybodies pictures so post them up.
DRHORMHUNTER, do you have a couple of big bucks spotted already? fatrooster.

Robiland, I do not know Sean DeFever. Can't say that I've even heard the name. But theres always the possibility that I could run into him one day.
Hornhound, do you know NvPete from this forum? He lives somewhere in your neck of the woods. Very nice guy and has a great sense of humor. Also known as Forky Pete. fatrooster.

I don't want to hijack the thread but I have a lab pup and I started working with her at 8 weeks, now she is 5 months old.She was doing good retrieving and smelling out sheds. Now she has started loosing her baby teeth and she acts like her mouth is tender, she will find them when I hide them and she will run out to retrieve but mouths them and won't bring back more than 1 or 2.have you seen this in your dogs and I continue to work with her hopefully she will get her teeth in soon

If you wanna let daisy come up here I'll get her legged up and ready to roll. I got some big sheds laying in some sage that would make a guy think he was back in Nam. But I need a sniffer or ya gotta step right on em

habitat, if you wanna confirm wether or not her teething is hurting her mouth, rub your finger along her gums gently applying pressure and if it doesn't hurt try a little more pressure. If it does not hurt then you have a different problem. She might be getting bored with the game. Let me know if her gums hurts with finger pressure and then we'll go from there.
DRHORNHUNTER, where do you live? Me and Daisy would be glad to come sniff out those antlers but be warned. Whatever Daisy finds Daisy keeps. Did you see what happened to Santa this last Christmas???
Me and Daisy finally went out chasing horn yesturday, 3-7-12, and I found 3 antlers and Daisy found a big fat ZERO!!! One antler was a small 3-point and the other two was a 150ish 4-point set. Every year I start out wooping up on her, but then when she finally gets her game on, look out! Even though I beat her finding antlers on our first outing, she didn't come out of the deal empty handed. When we got back to the ATV and as I was taking off my pack Daisy trotted off and came back from the thick brush with a small 6x6 muley deadhead that was about two years old. One of my favorite things to see is Daisy bringing me back an antler but bringing back a deadhead trumps even an antler. I haven't had time to download pictures yet and I'm at work right now but hopefully I can download pics tonight. fatrooster.

She lost another tooth yesterday and of course it was bleeding alittle. She will retrieve a soft toy time after time.Tyne has started bringing the bone back a few more times before she quits.I will keep watching her

sounds to me like you've got the problem pegged. You might consider grinding up an antler and putting the powder in a sock or wrapping an antler with some soft cloth. fatrooster.
