When I first saw the brown through the glass, I thought I had found a big deer shed, when I approached the horns I found a 2-3 elk set so small I couldn't believe it. I was disappointed, its one of the smallest sets I have ever found.

Hope you enjoy...

What how could you ever be disapointed that you found a set? I think they are great. Nice find!

I wasn't disappointed that I found a set, but the size of the set made me laugh, but it was still worth the 2 hr hike to it.

At least it was horn. I've been fooled by dead tree branches on the ground!!!

Those look like this years sheds? Have the elk started dropping where your at? Will be a month or two here at least.

I know the feeling! I glassed an antler that I thought was a mega mulie. Hiked about 35 mins across a nasty canyon to get to it and it was part of an old raghorn bull antler. Much bigger than those, but still was disappointed!!! That is a truly pathetic bull, BUT, I would pack it out ANY day!

You know know how that feels to think you have something huge and then it is so small it almost makes you cry. I found this set in early may when I was out looking for sheds.

LMAO!!!!!! Ya...I'd have been a little pissed....country looks like where I hunt and after working your butt off to get there...hoping for the big monster muley set and surprise!!!!!

However....on the other hand....I'm sure you've spotted 3-4" of tine and sat there debating whether or not to take that hike way over there to check it out....did and got rewarded with a bunch of horn connected to the 3-4"??? That's hornin........

I found these horns along with many others. My brother HaremMaster and I found like 16 sheds total. I found 8 brown elk, including a 350 set, another big set, and this small set, my brother found more than I did, he also found a nice 5x5 set, not pictured, and a big 6 point, these horns were found on the same trip.

I was glad that I had my horse to pack out the horns because it sucked to carry these bigs out, plus it was kinda cold.

WTH.
