Hey there,
I am wondering about the elk hunting here.
I got permission to hunt a ranch along the Greybull river, but I know nothing about the area. I am a non res and I will have to pay the special tag price to get drawn and don't know if it is worth it.
Last time I hunted Wyoming was for sheep in 1988 next to Yellowstone when it was burning up.

there are elk there and some very big ones as well, most of the elk hang right on the river but a few are taken when they leave the private as well. The ranch you have permission from should be able to tell you if they generally have elk hang out their or if its more of a get lucky and catch them moving through type of deal. Unless that place you can hunt has a history of having elk hang out on their property for an extended length of time its probably not an area to focus alot of attention on. but you can always move to another general unit if you don't find anything.

which ranch?? you can pm me. I work in the oil field in that area and on a lot of the ranches
