as a non-res. to MT how are the 700 units for public access to hunt for pronghorn? is there alot of private to watch out for? any private land programs that alow public hunting? or is it a tresspass fee situation. any particular area that would be good for a first time goat hunter in those parts. not looking for a trophy just in for having a fun time.
is there areas a person should deff. avoid..(like were everybody seems to go)? thanks for the help..

I'm from eastern MT and can tell you there is precious little public ground. There is the block management program that you can contact the Miles City FWP office for. There is a good bit of ground in it, private land owners that contract with fish and game for no fee hunting. Permission is by a couple different ways, FWP will be able to tell you about it. The better areas for antelope get locked up pretty quick for hunting, so do your choosing early, I think you can start getting permission in mid August. Region 7 luckily has antelope just about everywhere, so finding them isn't that hard. Good Luck to ya.
