Ducks with a bow

If anyone has any experience hunting ducks with a bow, I would like to hear about it.
What kind of arrows do you use? Do you loose a lot ect.

Thanks

I have killed quite a few geese with my bow. I've just used my hunting arrows with muzzy 125's. all shots were on the ground and a lot of birds fly off and die in the air. I wouldn't recommend using regular broadheads. I'm gonna try hunting over water this year just for the reason that arrows float right where they hit the water. let me know if you find good heads that shoot good to 70 yds or so. good luck!

I've shot a few geese and ducks with my recurve back in the day. Just be aware, MOST states require Flu-Flu arrows and bird wire heads when shooting waterfowl from the air.

Bluebills,

Thank you for the information. I am a little nervous to shoot a broadhead in the air. If they were on the ground I can see the advantage. I think it would be a lot safer with a flu flu arrow.
I will keep asking around.

Thanks

Bohntr,

Thank you for the post. It seems that a flu flu arrow would be the best way. A regular arrow would be extreamly dangerous shooting up in the air.

Thank you for the post

Killed a few pheasants over dogs with flu flu's and judo's but have never tried ducks. would definitely be a challenge!

tred barta tried it. he missed a lot.
it was the last episode i saw, last week maybe.
looked like fun though.

Some of the lakes I used to bass fish, would get so much pressure that the ducks were used to fisherman going by them at 40-50 yards. So I started keeping my bow with some vortex bh on my boat and had a blast doing a combo bass fishing duck shoot. Luckily arrows float fletches up.
