DOW shed hunting

So I am driving along Hwy 13 in NW Colorado thinking I might be able to get an hour or so of shedding in late one afternoon last week. I see open ground on some steep slopes but the deer and elk are everywhere I look. It's public land but I just couldn't justify going up there with all the critters. Fighting back the urge, I drive up the highway to see what? A DOW truck pulled off the highway at a small ravine accessing the public land. I'm wondering what the heck is he doing? Drove back by one hour later and the truck is still there..no DOW officier to be found. No other vehicles around anywhere. Wonder what he was doing? Hmmmm...? Looking for shed antler hunters harassing wildlife? I doubt it....

Wanted to sit and wait for him/her to come back to the truck but had to get to town.

Deer and elk on some local sage/wheat fields...

He was probably radio-tracking black footed ferrets, counting sage grouse pellets and waiting for some teenage utard to screw up.
