in weed country, especially this time of year. The Sheriff won't even look for you. Sending out a search party would be like throwing a rock at a yellow jacket nest. Not too bright.

I learned that while driving through a remote area in Trinity, Mendocino, or Humboldt County, keep your eyes on the road. Don't look left or right, and never stop to take a leak.

Guns are like parachutes. If you need one and don't have one you probably will never need one again.

I lived in Eureka for a summer. The locals at the gym said it was best that I not run in the woods.

BTW eel, I sent you a pm.

That sounds scary!

I must live a sheltered life since I cannot comprehend the hills being so dangerous that a search for a missing guy can't/won't be undertaken by the authorities.

Zeke, it is scary. It's like the wild west before law enforcement.

It's so bad now, I only deer hunt at higher elevations where pot doesn't grow. I have this thing about coming home after the hunt.

My sister owns a window shade business and she has to go to outlying areas frequently to take measurements and give estimates. She won't go unless the people meet her somewhere safe and escort her to their place. True story.

Eel,
That's not a good situation at all but I like your thoughts on actually making it home after a hunt.
I love to hunt but I wouldn't be willing to risk my like in "those" areas.
I can't even imagine the impact the pot growers are having on the environment and the good people who live, work and play in the area.
