...I was talking about Don and the band...when he introduced them it was like slow motion.....I'm not putting them down, I love them....just very low energy stuff.

Every time another Hard Luck Ace cashes in his chips, I dial up Lacy J. Dalton (another hard luck ace, in her on right) and listen to her tribute a couple of times. It makes me melancholy. If I was a whiskey drinker, I'd pour a stiff one.

Don Williams is as much a "Hard Luck Ace" as any of them. I could listen to his smooth, soft notes for hours, when I'm in that kind of mood.

Everyone one of these old timers played mood country, and there was a different personality for every mood, be it lower than a gopher or higher than an eagle.

Dang it, it is so hard to see them all slip away. There will never be another generation of entertainers like these ole boy and girls. They cut the heart out of the watermelon!!
