Do you shoot Iron Will Broadheads?

Got back from a successful Elk hunt for my daughter in southwestern Colorado. Tagged a great 6x5 bull (should have been a 6x6 but snapped off his g5/g6 split) . Found a second little trophy inside the bull was a iron will broadhead. Pretty amazing the bull didn't even seemed phased, it was lodged into his spine on his left side.

Iron Wills are Badass and the cost is for good reason. Yes lots of cheaper heads that work, but I would easily shoot the iron wills any day. The only guys whining about the cost must miss a lot of shots? As they can be used for years and years on multiple animals.

I don’t care for fixed blade broadheads anymore, shot a lot when I was a kid and thy were cheaper but have moved on to really good mechanical’s. But lots of Bowhunters swear by iron will’s especially for big game such as elk or buffalo, 🤙🏽

I went back to shooting a fixed blade as I like to be able to hone the edge in seconds vs. replaceable. Not Iron wills though. Between me and my two hunting partners I think we've killed 3 bulls over the years that had broadheads in them. Ball joint of the hip, along the spine and one in the shoulder. All elk seemed fine. They are tough.

Dang, I guess that is a nice little trophy of a broadhead at $40 a piece. It's going on the plaque with the bullet we do me in the hide for sure. Well just wanted to share. The bull was ripping off bugles and running around and it didn't seem to bother him. The archery shot looked like it was a quartering to, and of course high. The broadhead doesn't even look damaged. Who's ever broadhead that was thanks for missing the vitals. It is a nice bull we got. Happy hunting Season 3 looks like it might be getting some weather next week.
