Diamond Creek zone (unit 76 and 66a) questions

I plan to hunt Diamond Creek zone with my wife this year. It will be her first elk hunt, and it will be my first time to the Diamond Creek zone. We are both hoping for a good hunt, and the opportunity to hear some elk, see some elk and hopefully between the two of us and 9 days of hunting in late September, we will have an opportunity,,,, or two, at a legal elk. Size is really irrelevant for her but she would prefer a bull, I on the other hand would prefer to take a cow rather than a raghorn. I have heard some good things in the past, but lately it seems more bad things are being spouted.

Without being too specific, I plan to hunt the northern portion of 76 near the Wyoming state line. I had thought of renting llamas and could use any information on this, who, where, etc. I could also use any insight, tips, suggestions, etc. on elk hunting in this entire area, or the specific location I mentioned. Is this an area that we can backpack into and get away from other hunters? Please PM me if you can help, any advice will be greatly appreciated.
