I've heard a lot of talk about luring deer in with salt licks, molasses, apples, etc. I know that salt licks work, but I was wondering about the other things. Sounds more like a bear bait station to me. Does anybody know first hand about some of this?

I know that in most places out west it is illegal, so if you are interested in trying it you may want to check your states rules and regs on this practice.

I usually smear vanilla all over my body before I put my camoflauge on and the trapes through the woods lookin for the big one. I have very good luck. Bucks are lured by the sweet smell of the vanilla, but you do need to watch for bears. Holy crap have I had some run ins with them.

Good Luck

If you can't hunt them with out baiting then stay the he!! out of the woods,
Thats just my opinion.
Heck you might try the carmaled apple on A HUGE TREBBLE hook and 600 lb line, here they do that down in Mo.
in my book food plots should be illegal to hunt over.
but where do you call the line.
corn field, bean field, buck crunch, you tell me.

40 INCHERS DONT COME IN TO CARMEL APPLES AND SALTY MOLEASSES.

THE ONLY CAT WILLING TO LICK SALTY MOLEASSES TO GET A BUCK.

Jim,

I was just joking when I told that go to check out Realtreee.com I do think baiting and food plots are unethical for deer and most other critters.
